About Toqa

Fascinated by technology and how we use it, I am interested in understanding what makes us adopt different devices and choose the various media that we have in our lives. This interest evolved from my experience with social networking sites and my habit of being selective about the media that I choose to view and use. Media choice and selective exposure have become a focus, not only in my research, but also I am much more aware of the kinds of media I consume on a day-to-day basis.

Another aspect that drives my passion for behavioral genetics is my relationship with my family, specifically, my parents. With no extended family around, my parents had the biggest impact on me and my values. However, there is something that I cannot pinpoint about our interactions at home, our dealings with each other, and the similarities that we have and the differences that stand out between us. Perhaps, there are internal biological factors that have been shaping my behaviors, making me who I am today.

My experience and knowledge in Information Technology and Computer Networking ties all of these interests together by always motivating me to keep learning about new technologies, devices, software, and digital techniques. My interactions with computers allows me to use technology without fear of mistakes. My creativity is enabled, making me ready to explore new program features and capabilities with the hopes of finding more opportunities for improvement.

Lastly, I love to laugh, have fun, spend time with people that will challenge me to explore new ideas and concepts. My hobbies include photography, hiking, and cooking and, occasionally, I edit videos!
